My name is Raymond Carnwright and I served in the Marine Corps for over 8 ½ years. During my time I did 3 combat deployments as Infantry Machine Gunner. Like most combat veterans I struggled in all areas of my life when my honorable service was completed in 2011. In February 2015 I walked into West Coast Martials Arts/RCJ Machado in search of new purpose. Since that day a lot has changed in all areas of my life. The one thing that I love about Jiu Jitsu is that it keeps reality relevant for me. Every day I am tested on and off the mat just like I was when I was serving in the Marine Corps. Professor George Fuji has shown me again what it feels like to be a part of something bigger than yourself. My main goal is to help other veterans find Jiu Jitsu like I did. Operation SOS is a program Professor Fuji and I started to help veterans in need. This program has and will continue to change lives.
Semper Fi,
Raymond Carnwright
